San Francisco's waterfront holds a history of making that long predates the region's contemporary technology industry. The Pier 70 Time Machine, located in historic Building 12 in Dogpatch, brings together shipbuilding artifacts, technical drawings, neighborhood photographs and objects from local working life. Created through the Bethlehem Shipyard Museum and Potrero Hill Archives Project, the space connects industrial engineering with the people and communities who shaped the area. For KOLAK, the museum offers a reminder that Silicon Valley's culture of experimentation has deep roots in the Bay Area's physical infrastructure and manufacturing history. The museum opened in September 2026 and welcomes visitors free of charge.
