Spirit of a Boss
Payroll Giovanni
Original release: October 9, 2020
Format: Solo album
The Project
With Spirit of a Boss, Payroll Giovanni returns the focus to his own name after a series of 2020 collaborations. The title reflects a central thread in his recorded work: the attitude, choices and responsibilities behind self-directed success rather than simply the outward appearance of money.
The chronology clarifies why this deserves a separate article. Game Related was a wider Cardo-led meeting of voices, and Ghetto Rich N****z connected Payroll with Peezy. Here the frame is a solo Payroll release, a useful lead-in to subsequent records such as Giovanni’s Way and Ghost Mode.
Listening Notes
Listen in relation to Payroll’s collaborative releases, but keep this album’s own artist credit and release history separate from those partnerships.
Production & Contributors
Track-by-track production contributors are named only when music storefronts or liner notes support the specific credit.
