The Project
Payroll Giovanni and Peezy’s Ghetto Rich N****z brings two Detroit artists together on their own collaborative release. It belongs in this KOLAK collection because the larger story is not solely about Larry June and Cardo: Payroll has a parallel body of work rooted in Detroit and in the relationships formed there.
Earlier in 2020, Game Related placed Payroll alongside June, HBK and Cardo. This project changes the partnership and the point of view. Set next to his solo Spirit of a Boss, it illustrates the range of formats Payroll used in one year without collapsing separate releases into one generalized description.
