Nike is reorganizing race-day footwear around the runner, not a single definition of speed.

Nike has introduced a three-shoe race-day system built around different levels of ambition and experience. Apex, Alphafly 4 and Swooshfly each answer a different race-day need rather than operating as a simple hierarchy.
Apex is positioned for runners chasing the outer edge of marathon performance. Alphafly 4 balances responsiveness, comfort, stability and efficiency over distance. Swooshfly is designed as a more approachable invitation to race day.
The design strategy is the larger story. Three products share one performance ecosystem while solving different runner problems—a systems approach that connects footwear engineering with broader product-design thinking.
Nike says Alphafly 4 launches in October 2026, followed by Apex in January 2027 and Swooshfly in February 2027.
For the KOLAK Archive, the takeaway is the system itself: three products, three users, one design language. Performance becomes less about one flagship object and more about building an ecosystem where every piece has a clear job.
